Order Paper NowI chose to analyze the kids breakfast since I have two children myself. Cereal, milk and juice is what I have given my five-year-old one different occasions and It’s some of the choices that his school provides for breakfast also. He enjoys it and it’s something that keeps him full (with a snack in between that and lunch) and gives him a little boost to start the day. Yogurt, fruit, cheese, oatmeal, whole grain and dairy are some of the few food items that are very easy to make for breakfast and are good for your child’s health. Since eating healthy is very important for everyone including children since they are active all day, it’s a fundamental form of energy that they constantly need specially to start the day. Therefore, one cup of Fruit loops contains 117 kcal, 1 gram of protein, and 1 gram of total fat, one cup of 2% milk has 121 kcal, 8 grams of protein, and 5 grams of total fat and finally, one cup of orange juice has 1112 kcal, 2 grams of protein. I don’t think this specific breakfast is bad at all for a child but of course it depends on how much they are used to eating or the parent’s preference. For my son I would substitute the cereal with some eggs and toast and even add fruit (he loves grapes) to fill him up until lunch time when he has school. My husband loves to dilute juice especially when giving some to the kids so that is something that can work with this meal too, diluting the juice will help them not consume that much juice per day since the recommendation for juice consumption is no more than 4 oz. per day.
