A Hypothetical Emergency Management Plan.

Improvement of the emergency management plan can occur in various ways. First, through data centralization which allows one to import data from one source that automatically notifies other sections making data accurate. In the process, communication is activated quickly (Kapucu & Hu, 2016). Another method is standardizing communication. The technique builds and regulates messages, as well as templates to minimize errors and confusion thus providing a chance for message verification and effective action. Running drills to ensure success is another way of improving the emergency plan which includes putting into practice of well-designed strategies to check on strengths and weakness hence making necessary corrections. Also, taking an emergency management plan to the next level is a crucial way of improving it. It monitors and evaluates the method to obtain success (Reilly &Markenson, 2010).

The emergency management plan has crossovers with other hospital departments. There is no designated time for emergency and when it occurs departments at one point are forced to adjust their schedules to contain the situation (Kapucu & Hu, 2016). It implies that the department will have to postpone its activity to help others in tackling the emergency. By so doing, it will, in turn, result in time consumption which will automatically affect completion of various tasks according to the laid schedule. Departmental reinforcement is essential in such cases more so when the response unit has less workforce. The department will have to outsource more workforce from other sections to respond to situation timely and effectively. The emergency management plan may need collective interdepartmental action to a point where departments coordinate, communicate, delegate, and act as one unit to achieve institutional goals and objectives (Ennis, 2001).
