Scenario:

Anne Smith grew up with her family in a suburb of Washington, DC. The family is active in their parish community, going to church on Sunday, and the children attending the local Catholic school. Anne was diagnosed with leukemia when she was 7 years old. She has gone through various treatments for five years, including a bone marrow transplant. Now, after a month in hospice care at Children’s Hospital, she has died. Her mother and father, two grandmothers, and an older brother (15 years old) and younger sister (10 years old) were with her when she died. Anne had been in school regularly when not in treatment, and her classmates are devastated by her death. Her body has been embalmed and the family celebrated a wake at the local funeral home. Now it is time for the Funeral Liturgy at the local Catholic Church, St. Joseph. The family asked you to make the choices for Anne’s funeral liturgy.
